ABOUT ME

Life story and professional background.

Born in Zambia to an Irish father and South African mother, I grew up in a very creative family and so became passionate about the arts from a very young age. My experience spans over 20 years beginning with the Boston Lyric Opera in Boston, Massachusetts where I played a vital role in the delivery of Carmen on the Common, a ground breaking outdoor opera event that made cultural history in the city of Boston.

I later returned to London where I took up the post of producer for Adzido Dance working under the artistic vision of Clarie Middleton with renowned choreographers including Jackie Guy, Namron, Gregory Maqoma, Urban Bush Women of New York and South African choreographer and director Zenzi Mbuli.

I then went on to production manage the Pakistan Earthquake Appeal concert at the Royal Albert Hall for the Asian Music Circuit working alongside a stellar cast of performers including musician Faakhir Mehmood and actor, Masood Ahmed.

This was followed by a contract with The Patrician in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland where I delivered a varied programme of events including the annual puppet festival, art exhibitions and youth theatre.

Following a stint managing/promoting a number of bands in London including South African group, Igagu, Ozi Ozaa, Nottingham based Widow's Child and The Homing, I returned home to Northern Ireland and set up my own company, Igagu, in honour of the band. Through this I delivered events, workshops and R&D'd one of my plays, The Wretched under Arts Council Northern Ireland funding and the auspices of the Lyric Theatre, Belfast.

I'm a dedicated writer and producer in the performing arts, specializing in theatre with a focus on hard-hitting stories. With extensive experience in event production, I am committed to delivering compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
